This is my favorite song from Venus and Mars. A great song. Not sure I totally understand what it's about - it's NOT a straightforward love song.
In the mid-70's there was a commercial on U.S. television that showed an native-American Indian weeping because of what had happened to his 'homeland' (i.e. people and pollution). I always wondered if this song was inspired by that commercial. "A tear still born" implies the crying is in vain - it won't help/change anything. There is an obvious 'indian' feel to the music. I've always pictured the indian retreating to 'his' homeland (maybe in his mind) to live peacefully.
The DTS 5.1 version of this song is terrific. The entire Venus and Mars DTS disc is great, but this song takes on a totally different, epic feel. Awesome.
Am I just nuts or does anyone else hear this song like this?
