My original thoughts seem to be alot more simple than other peoples. I thought that it was about either him being chucked out of a band or him chucking someone else out of a band and that the whole song was supposed to be taking the mic out of that guy. There's loads of references to music being written and things like "Digging how the guitar goes, In a song that no one knows" could be referring to how the band weren't going anywhere. Stuff like "We all wish we wrote this song" could be sarcastic refferences to a x-bandmate's songwriting abilities. These were my thoughts although everyone seems to be sure that it was about Jimi Hendrix or Jim Morrison.
