Sin and redemption? maybe. I think it's a song about the return of Christ.

Christ's return could be seen as daylight breaking up a dark room (the world).
"I've been waking up without you for too long"
The singer desires God, and is tired of his life on earth without him in person.
"I've been alone in the dark
I've been dreaming of the day
when dreams are awake"
He's looking forward to the return, aka the "day," which could be interpreted as both daylight or the day of the return.
Anyway thats how I look at this song.. sin and redemption might fit as well but either way, beautiful. Can't wait for the new album.
