Yes. It's about how we fill our lives with flase stuff like the internet, in order to give some meaning and interest to ourselves. It's the easiest way for us to escape the whole being face to face with life and with problems in them, by dealing with them virtualy. But really, not living right, becoming "passive" in a way, or more "numb", I'd say, and weaker. Letting our soul die slowly in this plastic world of data we surround ourselve with, thinking it's the answer for our problems and issues in life, for being so available, so cold and even anonymous. Looking for the easy (yet mostly- wrong) way out. Letting things control our lives, and not controling them ourselves. I think this song could have had giving another layer of significance, to make it more meaningful. But maybe this is a self-criticizem and sobriety of the writer, and that is what he's trying to say. That he is a part of this. Living in it, like everybody else. Only they should be aware of this.
