I can't believe I'm the 1st one to comment on this beautiful song. To me it's just such a wonderful love song. It's pretty short but the progress which the woman goes thru is still pretty much visible. In the beginning she refers to herself as a fool because she is apparently not the only woman the man she has a crush on treats as a lover. However, she realizes that it's impossible for her to escape the man's "charming claws" and so she kind of on her knees in front of this gigolo guy begging him to take her back. She knows that she is dependent (or maybe even addicted to) on the man. Maybe she is sexually depending on him.
The song might sound sad to an emancipated woman who would never like to say that she is so addicted to a guy but i think the song can also be appllied to a man loving a girl. I think there#s even a version of this son sung by Frank Sinatra.
