I think this song is about him falling in love with a type of girl that he never thought he'd be attracted to, but its really confsuing to him because she makes him weak when theyre together (which is a GOOD THING.. meaning love), and he is realizing she is everything he ever wanted, but never thought she would be.
It hits close to home for me, because I am following a girl to college, and quite frankly, shes not what I thought I'd fall inlove with. Other than her being an athlete and red hair (which i love), she drinks, has had sex, and used to smoke (but quit for me!), and i hate all of that in a girl I'm dating, but sure enough, she is the most amazing girl I have ever known, and I love her.
