i kind of think the "i miss the way you make me feel, so cold and alone" line means that their relationship was like not really abusive, but they both didnt give to the relationship. only he did. and like she made him feel like crap all the time, but he still loves her, and now that they are apart hes just feeling angry about it, not necessarily "cold and alone" like how he felt when they were in the relationship.
"forever isnt long enough to get over giving so much up to someone who will throw it all away" is kind of like, he gave his ALL in the relationship, and she just threw it away and its going to take forever to give over the fact that he just lost EVERYTHING. its kind of resentful statement too, like he gave all of himself and she just tossed it away, so he has every right to have a grudge against her.
