Don't let this cheery tune fool you; this is a very bitter song. At least it is in my opinion. Basically, he is judging the relationship as a failure before it even starts because he thinks she falls into some sort of dating pattern he himself is stuck in. By the time he realizes what is happening, it's too late, the game has already begun. Though really, isn't he just giving her an unfair advantage? He assumes just because she is like someone or reminds him of people from the past, she will lie to him, treat him the same way they did. I feel sad for the people in this song to be quite honest. Not sure if it is autobiographical, but if it is, that's a shame.
