the part about "put me in your tongue tie/make it hard to say/that you ain't gonna stay" is my favorite part of the song...because it captures perfectly that feeling of insecurity you get when someone leaves, regarding everything you've gone through with the person up 'til then. you suddenly think "if this person is acting as if it's so easy to leave me, did s/he really care to begin with? will s/he forget me so easily? is this at ALL difficult for her/him?"
basically what this song means to me is: "hey, you're leaving me, i am devastated, but i have one hope, and that is that i meant enough to you that someday this will come back to haunt you the way i know it will haunt me. i hope there are things that will always remind you of me, and that maybe someday, you'll come back because your memories of me won't leave you alone."
