I love the poetic way in which this band writes their songs. "Is your skin your skeletons" almost implies that his life driving force is what most people have the ability to hide (skeletons in the closet). Instead he is forced to openly display his fear, insecurity and shame. When he mentions the shadows flying across the wall, I can just imagine him sitting in an unlit room, in broad daylight, with the shutters slightly open. When the sun is shining in at a certain angle, it picks up any form that may be outside of his window. In the distance or up close, the light produces some sort of shadowy figure. The shadows become his world because he is so afraid to step out into the real one.

This song makes me think of a person who is who is desperately longing for a relationship, friendship, or simply some intimate way to connect with others. It seems as though there have been opportunities that may have come his way. In the moment, he convinces himself that he could possibly break his lonely mold. But unfortunately because of his inability to truly value and believe in himself, he never takes the chance to reach out to those who may have made themselves available to him. So, yet again, he fails..."and another one goes by."
