I agree with a lot of what you said suclid, but I think she is fully aware about how he feels and she's acknowledged it...in fact, I go a step further; I think she knows how he feels, she acknowledges it, but she doesn't feel the same way and it tortures her:
"You sleep all night
you know you lie awake
Tell me, yeah
And time is running out
and you know so well
it may never be"
