as a senior in high school, I see this song as representative of where I am right now - I'm about to go off to college, and while it's not really "the real world" it is where I will begin to form what I'm going to do with my life.

"We want today" means people my age are eager to seize the opportunities around them. "We want yesterday" shows that sometimes we long for things to be as they were in the past - it's our way of shying away from the responsibilities of life. "We Are Tomorrow" is a simple but powerful statement of truth: one day, those older than us will retire and die, and we will be the ones in charge, offering the next generation hope that they are tomorrow.

"Here we come, it's our season" because as we enter and pass through college it is my generation's "time to shine" as we come into our own, break free from our parents, and begin making a bigger impact on the world around us as we take jobs and start families. However, to truly shine, we need God on our side. This is indicated by the lines "it takes more than what we are/faith in more than what we are to shine"

This song is a truly great ode to the hope the future offers.
