this version is amazing. I still love the demo, but this one just has a magic to it as well. I'm glad I have both versions. The old one is great and this one definitely fits the album itself better.

I love that riff after "it won't be long 'til we find our way home". I wish I could listen to 6 minutes of just that.

I think this song's about a girl who's father died at war.

One old lyric that works with it was "When he shoots, he sings this song, doesn't know that she's been singing it too."

then of course the whole "did you hear the trumpets play the day your father died..." and the whole song has the metaphor of the father dying like the leaves do in autumn. And the daugter wishes it would always be summer so the leaves would never die and fall from the tree. (Like the dad dying, falling from the family.)
