This song always made me think of an old black and white 20's gangster movie. pinstriped suits, tommy guns, all that jazz. and because of that i always thought the same about point and counterpoint. and i also incorperated 9mm and three piece suit into the mix as well

I know thats most likely not at all related to the actual meaning or plot of the songs but i just like those thoughts, oddly romantic

verymuch so. someone told me that those three songs (9mm and a three piece suit, keasby nights, and point/counterpoint) tell the story of someone who gets involved in crime, but is not really cut out for it. He regrets his decision and wishes he could get out of it, but knows that the people he ran with won't let him quit the life of crime and they will kill him, but in point/counterpoint he waits and waits, but nobody ever comes.

idk... sounds convincing to me!

after posting this obnoxious reply i saw somebody wrote a better explanation under me... read his :O
