They were perfect for each other. In the beginning all their friends thought it was just a fling - they'd never actually start a real relationship. All her so-called friends kept trying to keep them apart, most likely out of jealousy. To add more fuel to the fire, her friends are saying that he works all the time to be with other girls when actually he's working for the money and to buy her gifts. He knows that they have been telling stories because they want to get with him...lol. So he's just telling her that he does love her and wants to know if she feels the same way too.
