I agree in part with Lucygirl, but I also believe this song might have a deeper meaning. Instead of perhaps an abusive boyfriend, I think it may be talking about the Devil. People who fall for his lies may think that he loves them and will reward them for sinning when actually he hates them and is only using them. Think about it..."Maybe it would be nice, if he wouldn't always put you down" and "Maybe he'll change, if you could be better". I admit the comment about watching the waitress does seem more like a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship but I still think that well, Superchick is a Christian band, so I don't know.
