This is the introduction of the Mephisto character to the Epica story line. The devil descents in the disguish of an Angel to seduce Ariel (the main character)
He offers him help on his quest in exchange of his soul and grants him time to think things over.. But he is also SURE that Ariel won't refuse.. And he eventually will get his point as we can see in the next song of the album :P
Anyway, great song ^^ Love the intro.. Though I normally hate the sax, this one was a great mood setter.. You really see the angel descent when you close your eyes :P
