i think literally this is about a plane crash, but it also has alot of emotional content. maybe from a pilot's perspective.
-he is flying back across the world to his love, and yet his plane goes down. "what made you fall" could be, why did he crash, or why did he fall in love.
the whole crash thing could be a metaphor for falling in love, and then crashing and burning when you are rejected.
"a nice way" makes me think he's waking up in heaven, with someone he's lost. or that he's coming to after the crash, and is just glad to be alive.
