"Leave me behind" sounds more like being left behind, while "led me through the path into Heaven" seems to be the requirements to be accepted into Heaven, but after following that kind of life he was disappointed to have gained nothing.
I don't think all of Draiman's songs are automatically about relationships, and he -does- have a religious background.
