I love the questioning of an afterlife, because it is something that we all ponder about in our lives.
Also, nic outlines the evilness of men rather than percieved kindness:
"If there's a heaven in the sky I don't know why they'd ever let me in
I'm sure that there's a hell and there's room for all of us"
"If there's a heaven" and 'I'm sure that therge's a hell" make this quite obvious.
"This beast that eats everything inside me" could refer to two things. either a) his own spirit, in which he is questioning his religion, or how he has been living his life or b) the devil, which is the beast which has forced him to live his life in a way which will lead him into a life of taking.
