I really, really like this song. It is so much better then Better Days. Honestly, I think Better Days was good, but it got kind of old pretty fast. I think SWY will stay for a long time. I agree with you wheaties, it sounds like something that could be from SSCW...but it also has a DUTG/Gutterflower-y feel to it.
I can't decide if it's a happy love song, or a song about his mother. Somebody on AG mentioned that it sounded like it could be about his mother, because John said something in an interview or something about going back to Buffalo and seeing the streets he grew up on, and the house he grew up in, seeing his mother being taken away in an ambulance....it brought back memories....and it sort of goes with parts of this song.
But it also sounds like it could be a hopeful, beginning-of-a-new-relationship type of love song.
