I reckon this might be about a girl who thinks she is a bit of a medium/psychic or whatever. Maybe paranoid too?
She claims to read minds, talks about astral signals, and even does that dream interpreting crap - (eg You're dreaming of a cow, it means you miss your mother in law)
"You wanna see the other side" maybe she wants to read peoples' minds and stuff like that coz she doesn't trust people or is paranoid? "How does it feel to realise you're all alone behind your eyes?" Kinda like 'sorry dear, but there are no dead people giving you clues'.
It mostly seems to fit to me. also the fact that she dreams of him doing terrible things to her and her getting really scared about it supports the paranoia hypothesy.
