Wonderfull song but not easy to really understand. I think it's about a man who is deeply ashamed of the power his passion has over him. Maybe he's begging his love for help, for she's the only one he can tell it, which could be indicated by "hold me tight" and "hear me".
But "And I bow trembling to your power" could also mean that he's slave to a women because his passion is making him doing everthing she says. This does happen sometimes and many of those men are really ashamed of it but unable to fight it.
