Blunt seems to be a master at drug/love metaphors. The drug approach in this one has to be the fact that he's just getting stoned all the time, and is extremely happy with it.

"Beautiful dawn Lights up the shore for me. There is nothing else in the world, I'd rather wake up and see (with you). Beautiful dawn I'm just chasing time again. Thought I would die a lonely man, in endless night" He wakes up looking at a beautiful view, and feels one at nature throughout the song because of getting high and just looking around the world.

"But now I'm high; running wild among all the stars above. Sometimes it's hard to believe you remember me." Sometimes it's hard to believe that he can feel this good, and he's just feeling great being stoned and feels one with it.

"Beautiful dawn Melt with the stars again. Do you remember the day when my journey began? Will you remember the end (of time)? Beautiful dawn You're just blowing my mind again. Thought I was born to endless night, until you shine." He thought his life was horrible, he took the drug, which is when his journey began.. he realizes that the drug can make him feel happy in life, and he's begging that it always stays with him throughout his life.

"Will you be my shoulder when I'm grey and older? Promise me tomorrow starts with you," He doesn't think he can go on in life without the drug, and believes the only way he can get along is with it, and it "stays" with him.

Then again, I look at a lot of songs for drug references, and might just be so used to picking things out. Who knows. maybe he was just happy and decided to write a song.
