Considering how Raine makes half his songs (or so it seems) about how hollow religion is (but not spirituality), I have a feeling that would be the topic of this song.
Now, whether it's approaching it from the side of the person trying to believe and be happy, or from the side of the religion trying to convince a person to believe and be happy...I don't know. But I'd bet $5 on this being about religion.
