I was really intrigued by the Gatsby reference; it encompasses the whole song. The idea of a pretender to fame (Gatsby) pining for this unattainable (& likely married) woman (Daisy) is so universal, so sad. F. Scott Fitzgerald is amazing, and so is CC.
