to (sort of) briefly sum it up:
a girl broke up with him and he's upset saying he misses the way she made him feel. he's having trouble getting over the break-up while she's not. he thinks that forever isnt long enough to get over her and he'll always have feelings for her. he dug his own grave by loving her, and fell in love with a girl who broke his heart-"i fell head over heals into my grave". even though he's heartbroken he's happy they met. he knows that they will never be together again. he hopes his broken heart will heal and one day she might realize that him loving her the best he could was enough and that it wasnt his fault, it was hers for throwing it all away.
so thats what i get from the song..its pretty much straightforward and you could interpret it anyway. i like my way i guess because its how i'm feeling right now with a guy who broke up with me. great song though! i saw them at SXSW and they were awesome!
oh and i really dont understand when he says "i miss the way you make me feel so cold and alone". does he mean thats the way he felt when they were still together, or thats the way he feels after the breakup?
