For some reason, when I heard this song and actually understood the lyrics, I immediately thought "Scarlet Letter" mostly because of the first verse and the chorus. I think its alluding to "The Scarlet Letter" because of the first line "I take it all to heart, Don't point the finger" and then "Of all the sinners....Your the one who took the fall"..Anyone who has read the book knows what I'm talking about. For most of the book, Hester Prynne is the only one weighted with the blame of adultery, but Minister Dimmsdale feels just as guilty even though nobody knows he is her lover.
