I can't believe no posts for this song! Its about the road to depression and insanity. It is a long road and the "degradation trip" is about drug or alcohol use/abuse. It takes awhile, but his friend Layne Staley eventually got there. It is basicly Jerry's song about the cycle of "do drugs because things suck" and the eventual "things suck because I do drugs". Or it may be even deeper than that. This "solitude" is the real problem, but drugs and booze helped for awhile. Now they help very little, but I have no better alternative. I hate the drugs, I hate were I am now, I hate everything. Shit! Fuck it. I am goin to get high.
