To me, in this song, something's obviously happened which was previously ignored. But now, it's been recognised, and he's opened his eyes to see the truch, which hurts. I'm not totally sure what the thing that's happened is, I'd imagine it's to do with relationships (maybe cheating? lies? Some sort of problem in their relationship that went ignored but now has come to light and made them split up? Something like that). It's hard to figure out the exact thing.
The reason why I'm hooked on this song, is because I recently got with a girl, and things have been really arkward. So we've decided not to be together til we figure it out.
