My friend who works at Hot Topic and loves his job sent me this song. He agrees with it, actually. I do too, to a degree, but it's all bullshit really (granted, I honestly cannot remember the last time I was in Hot Topic). The shit he claims is "punk rock" is really more about the love of music than anything else.
I like all kinds of music, but in general I tend to listen to more "indie" than anything else and I still love to support my local scene. There's so much pride and the crowd is always better and I'd probably give up money for food if I good band was playing. Starting your own label is more about loving music and wanting to help bands you want to see go far get their music out there.
I'll give him G.G. Allin, though. Haha.
