It would seem that this could possibly be about someone pretending to be your friend and getting you to believe the things that they say, but betraying you and fucking you up. When you finally discover what a snake and hypocrite somebody fake is, you notice their patterns. They tell you something that sounds good but lie, they promise to keep your secrets then leak them to everyone once they get them out of you or they try to convince you that they go through exactly what you do but later tell you that your selfish or retarded for thinking that way. The shit they try to pull becomes predictible and you know what they are about to do so you learn to keep your trap shut and distance yourself from them. Trust me, I've been through this whole process. I told a "friend" I was suicidal and she said she sometimes wanted to kill herself because everything was so bad for her, but later she ranted about how good her life was and told me I was selfish for thinking about ending my life.
