The whole feel of the song right from the begining kinda you know what it's about,... which is something I don't think alotof people are gonna get,... get what I'm talking about, lol....
but the song makes me think of a blue collar american household,..
Mainly because I can't think of many white-collar jobs that have metal lockers you can punch,...
It seems to me to be about a blue collar guy who is trying his best to make ends meet, trying his best to keep his family housed and happy at the expense of his own happiness,...
He's under so much stress that it causes him to lash out in anger at things, like the locker at work in spite of his religious conviction (the dented "jesus saves ring")
the thirty bills unpaid line suggests the reason why he's under so much stress, because the life and security he toiled to build which caused him stress is now threatened which is making him even more stressed out,...

I definitely got that feeling too straight off the bat with this song! It's really impressive to me that they could achieve that. Pearl Jam create a whole movie in your head, even if it's something you're not familiar with, I'm really taken aback by how they create that for me. Sign of a phenomenal band I guess!
