I've heard Rob talking about it, and he said the song was about the process of falling in love: at first we think it's the best we could ever dream of, it captures us and trick us somehow but we end up realising it was not like that at all, it was just the same thing that we knew...we end up dissapointed and tired of it.
I still think it's probably the song in the album that resembles the most of Matchbox Twenty songs, but I agree that it's more hopeful and upbeated...it is just not that bitter, I guess. Rob is quite a happy guy now! :) lol
