BTW to me this song is about how people are satisfied with only expressing a minimal amount of compassion and love to each other which in turn makes our lives gloomy. Instead of loving life and loving each other we choose to be relatively cold to each other and count the days go by. If anyone has a different concept I'd be more than happy to hear it because this is probably my favorite song by my favorite band and I'd hate to be missing the point of the song
