This song was based on an article in the Youngstown Vindicator - "Speeding Auto Leaves Bodies Strewn on W. Federal (12 November 1971)" - spotted by bandmembers. Some guy drove down the sidewalk, killing three and injuring 13.
This song is pretty clear what it's about. They didn't want us to be confused at all.
