back to the song, i think its about nostalgia of losing something, maybe a girl, maybe a family member. maybe even something else to do with his childhood, the 'spokes round baseball cards' bit seems to be reminiscent of younger days. now he wants to go back, obviously.
its lovely, a very emotional song and the best bit about it is although the basic meaning is there, you can apply it to all sorts. i love it lots lol
