i think this song is pretty awesome. the instrumentation and style of musical writing, the way the guy's singing, and the words together make a random-ass mess. The words in particular are a bunch of sublime rambling bullshit, but there's just enough unity that, if you want, you can imagine that the singer (i mean the guy beck portrays, and yeah i think it's fair to say there is one) isn't rambling on purpose, but trying to convey something real to him. maybe this is what beck had in mind, i don't know. it's kind of like Fume, but a lot less morbid (I find Fume to be disturbing actually), and in the first place it probably doesn't have a real-world basis.
