This song seems to me to be about some woman fleeing from the place where she killed her lover. "As the cars go by under the sun like an enemy, you wonder..." Sort of like paranoia you get when it seems like everyone knows what you did. and the whole "Miles, miles away" and "Looking in the car rear view mirror" seems like she is fleeing from somewhere. And I'm pretty sure the line "dressed again in the hot water" means she is sweating profusely. thats my best guess. any other theories?
