Somehow I feel that he's critisizing both the east and the west ("I am scum, you are scum, we are scum") and feels that the whole situation is "out of control".
I always thought that the phantom power was about what goes on in the backround ,,, like surveilance or the plotting of a bomb strike. And the phantom lies could be the motivation for the war either side. Like.. Americas involvenment in Iraq or Alqaidas 'goals' or whatever. It's pretty vague as is my interprepreprpation
