I haven't really been able to figure out what he's singing about. I don't think it's so simple. I think he's singing about an imaginary girlfriend, or a pretty girl he admires from a distance and is pretending he's going out with. Like, pretending he has a perfect relationship rather than actually getting into one that requires work.
