I absolutely love this song but it wasnt the lyrics that drew me to it at first. It was the sound so powerful and at times you feel possesed by it. When I actually took time to think about the lyrics I understood it to be about someone who is possesed, leading a life that is a lie. He cant stop lying about his feelings trying to be strong but actually being torn up inside even to the point that he is blind to the masquerade himself.
So when the last part says 'I'll try, I'll try' its like as if hes trying to change his ways but he doenst know if he can.

This song describes a little of my uncle's life. He was like possessed for years. Being myself a Christian, it was painful to see him suffer. There was a fight going on within. I tried to reach out to him, but what was around him, or inside, got him disturbed and he couldn't bear being around me. There was everything to keep me away from him, because these things that possessed him didn't want to leave him. They knew well I was able to help him.
He's come out of it now, but it's been a hell of a battle!
