This is the truth.

Julia, John's mom, got a divorce from John's father, Alfred. Alfred is a seaman, so John thought that his mother can't just live with her husband being overseas and all...

Julia, being the youngest of the siblings, was carefree. She can't raise John very well. She took John to her elder sister, Mimi, where John was well-fed and well-schooled.

Julia appeared on John's life when he (John) was a teenager. She taught him banjo chords and all that. Their relationship grew. But it was more like a brother-sister relationship than a mother-and-son. John really liked her. She has a gorgeous face and a wicked sense of humor.

But just when things started to mend, Julia was killed in a car accident. The person responsible was a drunken, off-duty policeman. John was devastated.

John realized that the policeman was only human, so that was forgiven, although the pain is very intense.

John had undergone a screaming therapy where he can literally scream his pains.

He obviously wrote this song for his mother. His pains and sufferings. I guess, when he wrote this song, he felt at peace with his mom.

So that's it!
