I think this song is about a guy and his g/f's relationship falling apart and he's sayin that it wont "hold them down" and he's willing to work for it! And if she wakes up on her own and feels lonely he wants her to come back! He's also saying that he could run ... but he doesn't want to! At the end he says "I hope you're happy on your own" ... meaning he wants her but she doesn't want him enough to work for it and she will be lonely now! ..
