I think this song is about mob mentality. People join rallys just to "belong" and be a part of something. Not all people of course, but many. Not just protests or anything like that but societal pressure to conform in general.
The song is meant to make people realise that they have their own mind and dont have to conform to their group of friends, class, co-workers, protestors, etc. Basically: STOP AND THINK WHAT YPU ARE CONFORMING TO!
