I've had this album for a while but the only songs I listened to at first were the first 4. But now, having heard the whole album, I enjoy it a lot more.
To me this song DOES sound like a man being seperated from his loved one...but a little more literally, I noticed some things about this song. For instance, the title, Army Of The Sun. I have read enough about WWII to know that Japan's army was dubbed "The Army Of The Sun" (from the rising sun on their flag). That may not have any relevence to the song, but look at this line here:
"I raise my white flag
It’s the last flag I’ll ever raise
Don't stay away
Staring at you and all you are"
Japan surrendered, correct? Also, I read a book about the Pacific war, in which the japanese soldiers feared for their lives, when (and if) they surrendered (which most of them didn't), which may have some relevence to the part "I raise my white flag, It’s the last flag I’ll ever raise."

Or maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about.
