I've always thought that this song was a love song. Not a love song in normal terms, but a song about a relationship. I think Guy wrote the lyrics to this one, so I'd say this is about Guy's relationship with someone, at the time, that he was hopelessly devoted to. I think it states that that person didn't reciprocate to the extent he dvoted to them, and he knew that. But still, he persisted in hopes that the person would "love him back," and he obsessed over that notion and becomes consumed by it. The end of the song marks his realization that he needs to move on to better things, to someone that really deserves his love. It's pretty self-explanatory to me, but I though I'd comment since no one else had, and it's my favorite Fugazi song.
