Keep Me in Your Heart Lyrics

"Shadows are fallin' and I'm runnin' out of breath" The disease that Warren died from, Pleural Mesothelioma, is a lung cancer usually caused by exposure to asbestos. If left untreated, the cancer quickly expands throughout the chest cavity, eventually crushing aside the lungs and other organs. It is horribly similar to being slowly suffocated over a period of months.

This song is about the final 'acceptance' stage of dying. As he is suffering through his final breaths, he asks the people he loves to remember him fondly. He tells them he still loves them, but staying alive is becoming too difficult. Soon he will run out of steam, and the wheels will quit turning.

My father recently passed away from his own pleural mesothelioma. If this song tears at your heart, I beg you to donate a couple bucks to marf.org in Warren's name, and maybe we can save another family from this horror.

Finally, Warren's son Jordan sang live at MARF's last symposium. Warren would have been proud.
