I think "the ferris wheel still turns, as though it's a popular attraction still" is his girl pretending she's still in love although she hasn't cared for him in a while. she acting although hes the only one whos watching ("as though someone was watching besides me"). So she let him know it was an act, or maybe he found out. But he wants her to fix him. I do too.
