for me, this song is like pure expression. its like saying "im sorry, I dont have anything you need anymore" and like he isnt able to provide or do what he said he could and would before, its fucking him up real bad nad he is just thinking about it sobering him up and its leaving him detached and cold. And every time all these thoughts come back the momories of how it used to be and what he promised and then the tragic reality of the situation. He feels so bad its killing him.
